From the MSGA on May 7:
We have been hearing reports of confusion about Golf Cart rental capacity, so we asked the Governor’s office for more specific direction. This is the reply we received today:
“The current direction is 1 per cart, unless from the same household. The intent is to distance those who are not cohabiting.”
When asked why this is different than the directions for restaurants (i.e. 6/table), this is the reply:
“In this case, golf courses seem to be somewhat unique. The short answer is that we’re trying to open things up as quickly and safely as possible, and this is a logical anomaly that courses may just have to live with for the time being. We want people to continue to social distance during activities, but don’t want to preclude them from going to restaurants/bars in small groups. If the courses are still looking for additional guidance, please have them contact their county health departments.”
